The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation is the most popular and the largest news broadcaster in the world. BBC’s first broadcast was on 14th November, 1922. BBC covers a wide range of topics are viewed by many millions world over. The current headquarters is the Broadcasting House, Portland Place, London. BBC has branched onto many other broadcasting fields as well and there are many popular shows and documentaries done by BBC.  BBC has an annual budget of around 350 million pounds and employs a staff of 3500, of which 2500 being journalists. BBC uses television as its most popular broadcasting media followed by the radio and the internet.

Fox News

Fox News is an American news channel that is owned by the Fox entertainment group which is a subsidiary of 21st Century Fox. Rupert Murdoch created the channel and was launched on the 7th of October 1996. Fox news is a 24 hour news channel with 15 hours of live programming. Fox news headquarters is situated at 1211 Avenue of Americas, New York City, New York. Similar to BBC, Fox news’ most popular new broadcasting media primarily includes television followed by radio and the internet.


CNN (Cable News Network) is an American news channel owned by Time Warner. CNN was the first channel in United States history to offer 24 hour news and the first all-news channel as well. CNN was first launched on June 1st 1980. CNN’s international programming known as CNN international is viewed by over 212 countries and regions. CNN has stated that is no longer a global news network but rather a 24 hour global multi-platform network. CNN’s major news distribution platform includes television, online, radio and films (documentaries).

Sky News

Sky News is a 24 hour news operation. Sky News is based in Britain and launched on the 5th of February 1989. Sky News is known to provide news to many commercial radio stations and the channel is available on Apple TV, YouTube and Roku. Sky news is also a free for many consumers. Majority of Sky News is owned by 21st Century Fox who also owns and runs Fox News.
